Terms of use

These terms cover the Stepstay iPhone app and the website stepstay.co, both operated by Santos & Halp Inc, a Florida corporation ("Stepstay", "we"). By using either, you agree to them.

What Stepstay is

Stepstay is a search and comparison tool. It scores hotels by what is near them, using map data, ratings, and hotel information from third parties. It is not a travel agency, does not take bookings, does not sell rooms, and is not a party to any reservation you make.

Booking with someone else

When you choose a hotel, Stepstay sends you to the hotel brand, a booking site, or a booking partner. Your reservation, its price, taxes, fees, cancellation rules, and any loyalty credit are governed by that company's terms, not ours. Check the final price and terms on their page before you pay.

Affiliate commissions

Some booking links are affiliate links. If you book through one, the hotel or its booking partner may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions do not affect a hotel's score or ranking.

Accuracy

Scores, walk times, hours, ratings, prices, and availability are estimates built from third-party data and can be wrong or out of date. Walk times are estimates and do not account for weather, closures, safety, or accessibility. Use your own judgment, especially about whether an area is safe to walk at a given hour.

Your account

You may use the app without an account. If you sign in, keep your access to your Apple ID or email secure. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which removes your data as described in the privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape, copy, or redistribute Stepstay's data or scores, interfere with the service, or use it for anything unlawful. Map data is from OpenStreetMap under the ODbL; ratings, photos, and hotel content belong to Foursquare, Nuitee (LiteAPI), and the respective hotels.

Trademarks

Hotel brand names and marks belong to their owners. Stepstay is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any hotel brand and uses brand names only to identify hotels.

No warranty and limits on liability

Stepstay is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Santos & Halp Inc is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a booking, a price, a walk time, or information shown in the app, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free app is zero.

Changes, law, and contact
